Woolloomooloo Hotel
Woolloomooloo Hotel
Woolloomooloo Hotel is a unique hotel made for discovery. Since the doors swung open in 1873, The hotel has always been a firm neighbourhood favourite with its welcoming charm and harbourside views of the iconic Woolloomooloo Bay.
Formerly the Woolloomooloo Bay Hotel, the original building, which dates back to the 1870s, had undergone several renovations. Luchetti Krelle has undertaken an extensive revitalisation of the heritage corner pub, restoring the internal cohesion and reversing some of the hit-and-miss additions of previous renovations.
As part of a $14-million redesign, the interiors were remodelled throughout to remove fragmented floor finishes and dated joinery. A new enclosed rooftop level was added, architecturally designed by Richards Stanisich. The rooftop unleashes escapist beach club themes.
The ground floor now boasts an intimate, trattoria-style public bar featuring dark leather finishes and stained timber joinery. The space is anchored by a new central fireplace with a rippled granite hearth, around which the restaurant floorplan is organized.
