Potrero Hill Pavilion
Potrero Hill Pavilion
The Potrero Hill residence, is a renovation project that transformed a 1991 artist’s studio and dark room into a warm and inviting two-bedroom home. The project is designed by Brooke Aitken Design, an interior design studio recognized for their exceptional designs and has won two awards from the American Society of Designers California Central and Nevada Chapter (ANDYZ Award) for Best Individual Residential Space and Best Residential Bathroom Design.
For this particular project, the design team remained primarily in Australia, while the project was executed in San Francisco. The residence has been transformed into a serene, Japanese-inspired haven, featuring a fusion of vibrant hues, striking timber accents, diverse metal elements, and textured furnishings, including Frames Chairs from Expormim. These dining chairs, made of peeled and tinted natural rattan, bring the sophistication of traditional outdoor furniture indoors, adding a layer of glamour to the rustic charm of the material.
This project introduces an ambiance that seamlessly combines cultural influences with contemporary design, earning it a nomination for the Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) and a shortlist position in the Australian Interior Design Awards in the Residential Design category.
