Plumbers Local 130 UA Training Center
Plumbers Local 130 Ua Training Center
In the evolving economic landscape of the post-recession job market, the Chicago Local 130 Plumbers Union merged with several suburban and southeast Wisconsin plumbing unions to form a larger, more influential membership base. This unified organization required a training facility for their future apprentices to prepare them for advancements in plumbing technologies, with a focus on the increasing significance of water as a resource. The decision to locate the project in the City of Chicago, rather than the suburbs, underscores the union’s dedication to the city.
To optimize educational environments, the classrooms are equipped with Tipo chairs from Aichi—ultra-light, high-density, multi-purpose stacking chairs made entirely from recycled materials, capable of stacking 40 high, and specifically designed for training purposes. These classes foster lifelong friendships, bonded by shared learning experiences. This facility celebrate these connections, providing a place where generations of journeymen and apprentices can come together to honor their collective trade.
