Military Base
Military Base
On the outskirts of Utrecht, on the former site of Fort et Vossegat, part of the New Dutch Waterline defences, the Kromhout barracks is a new military station for 150 staff members, with sports facilities, a health centre, restaurant and underground parking. The PPP project was contracted out to the Komfort consortium which thereby assumed responsibility for the design, building, financing, maintenance and operation of the complex for a period of 25 years.
Meyer en Van Schooten Architecten took care of the details in this project, including a set of red Saturnia Lamps from LZF designed by Oskar Cerezo and installed in social areas, bringing color and movement to a sober building. Designed for both private and contract applications, these models boast unparalleled efficiency and performance. The small version is ingeniously equipped with a ring-shaped tube, ensuring minimal energy consumption without compromising on style.
