MassMutual entrusted Elkus Manfredi Architects with the task of conceptualizing its new office space. This innovative building is dedicated solely to advancing its digital and technological initiative. Reflecting a blend of historical reverence and forward-looking vision, the design pays homage to MassMutual's origins while embracing modernity, sustainability, and employee-centricity.
The grand entrance, overlooking Fan Pier Boulevard, welcomes visitors with a striking double-height lobby dubbed the "Forest in the City," echoing the lush ethos of MassMutual's hometown, Springfield, often referred to as the "City in the Woods." Andreu World's Brandy chairs, crafted from FSC® 100% wood, offer a cozy respite amidst a grove of olive trees, extending a warm embrace to all who enter.
Creating human-centered design, MassMutual and Elkus Manfredi also designed a workspace to accommodate today's hybrid work models while remaining adaptable to future trends and prioritizing the well-being of employees. Rooted in the ambition of fostering individual success, the result is a contemporary, inviting, and inclusive environment conducive to productivity, collaboration, and community.
