Founded in 1960 by Spanish lawyer Miguel Laso Tortosa, Expormim began as a response to the need for furniture made from natural materials, tapping into the traditional crafts of the Valencian region where wicker and esparto grass have long been worked.

Initially producing artisanal items, the company quickly expanded its reach across Europe, broadening its vision with the release of its first catalogue in 1968, which featured armchairs and chaise longues. Today, Expormim is a global brand renowned for its high-quality, contemporary furniture designed for both indoor and outdoor spaces.
