Denfair Preview: A sneak peek into what KE-ZU has lined up this year
Denfair 2018 is just around the corner and this year KE-ZU is upping the stakes with two exhibition stands bringing you the best in commercial and contract furniture design.
Held in Melbourne from 14 to 16 June, Denfair is an annual design industry event that brings together the best local and international brands in furniture, lighting, art and accessories. With so many products and designers to showcase, KE-ZU has two exhibition stands at Denfair 2018, one featuring a variety of KE-ZU’s leading European brands, and the other dedicated to Axona AICHI, with head designer Taku Kumazawa attending as our special guest.
Here’s a preview of what you can expect to see:
Designed in collaboration with Matt Sheargold of WILLS//SHEARGOLD, the KE-ZU stand is an inviting space with deep, rich colours and luxurious finishes, providing a glamorous backdrop to tables, seating and lighting by Andreu World, Expormim, Parachilna and Sancal. While these brands and products are often used in residential settings, KE-ZU’s focus is how they can also be used in commercial projects.
Some highlights include the much-loved Nuez chair by Patricia Urquiola and award-winning Reverse tables, both from Andreu World. You’ll also find the Spanish manufacturer’s Smart and Lake stacking chairs, Raglan modular sofa, Capri lounge chair and Dual tables.
From Expormim, the Gata chair and Gres stools designed by Miguel and Gonzalo Milá showcase the manufacturer’s exceptional skill with natural materials, as do the Huma and Coqueta chairs and Fontal chair by Oscar Tusquets Blanca.
For something plusher, you can take a well-deserved break in Sancal’s Magnum lounge chair and luxurious La Isla, which was on Zu Insider Michelle Macarounas’ wish-list from this year’s Salone del Mobile Milan.
In contrast to the deep, rich colours of the KE-ZU stand, the axona AICHI stand is a dazzling, vibrant white space for AICHI products to take centrestage. Taku Kumazawa designed the stand for Orgatec 2017 to reflect the Japanese brand’s less-is-more philosophy and approach.
AICHI’s award-winning Tipo stacking chair and CTZ flip-top tables will be on display, demonstrating the company’s strong focus on functionality, sustainability and a clean, crisp aesthetic. Both are versatile, comfortable and convenient choices for meeting, conference and training rooms. They are GECA certified, and Tipo is manufactured from 100-per-cent recycled and recyclable materials such as waste containers, PET bottles and car parts.
We are delighted that designer Taku will be at the stand to meet and talk with Denfair visitors, as well as launch AICHI’s latest product, the revolutionary X50 stacking chair. The sleek X50 chair has a flexible seat and back that forms to users’ body pressure and allows for extremely compact stacking (50 chairs on a transport dolly). Like the Tipo chair, X50 is produced using recycled and recyclable materials.
The KE-ZU team would love to see you at Denfair, so make sure to stop by the KE-ZU stands to say hello and enjoy the products. Also keep an eye out for our social media competition, #zumoments.
