Material has always been a vital element of Expormim’s products: the company originally worked with wicker before expanding into cane, beech wood and both natural and synthetic rattan. Now Expormim has added solid European oak to its palette, developing the Team and Basic storage collections. In these new collections, European oak is not only the main material, but its inherent characteristics have also informed the design. “Nothing would be as it is in this collection without the material it is made of,” says Team’s designer Mario Ruiz. “Wood gives identity to the pieces; it is the starting point, the reason of every detail in the project, because this design is based on the details and they can only be constructed thanks to the material. At the same time, this collection is inspired by Expormim’s long-standing tradition in handcrafted rattan and seeks dialogue with it.” Shown is the Basic T33 The Team collection includes television modules, credenzas, floating modules and floor and wall shelving. With clean lines and simple forms, the pieces vary in width, depth and formation, and each can be customised with a natural stone top or leather surface. Shown is the Team T855 The television modules and credenzas range in length from 1800 to 2400 millimetres and have solid wood or metallic legs and various options for drawer and door combinations. The floating modules vary from 1200 to 2400 millimetres with central, left and right options, depending on wall placement, and cupboards that fold down to reveal storage. Shown is the Team T83 The Team collection also offers floor shelving with the option of four to six shelves; wall shelving with two to three shelves; and a wall television shelf that features a background panel and one or two shelves above. Expormim’s Basic collection is similarly designed with a focus on functionality and richness of materials. Featuring clean and simple lines, the sideboards, cabinets and television stands can be customised with drawers and shelves to suit user’s requirements. The look and texture can be further enhanced with the option of three different Kerlite porcelain finishes for the front panels, lacquered elements and the choice of wood or metal legs.
