Fluvia's 2017 iF Design Award winning lights arrive at KE-ZU
Fluvia took the spotlight in this year’s iF DESIGN AWARD 2017 by picking up two well-deserved accolades. Fluvia’s Arch and Point luminaires received awards in the Product and Lighting categories.
iF DESIGN AWARD is an annual event that was first held in 1953 by iF International Forum Design, the oldest independent design institute in Germany. Initiated by the trade fair company Hannover Messe, the aim of the awards was to draw attention to well-designed industrial products in order to communicate the importance of design and what it can contribute to users, brands and societies.
More than 60 years later, the awards are still going strong with 5500 submissions from 59 countries in 2017. This year’s annual ceremony took place on 10 March in the BMW Welt exhibition centre in Munich with more than 2000 attendees from around the world. Up against truly talented competition, we’re delighted to see Fluvia’s products acknowledge with two awards.
The Arch, designed by Josep Lluscà, is a simple and elegant light fixture designed for general and accent lighting. Versatile and modular, the Arch can be positioned individually or grouped in pairs or clusters according to the needs of different spaces. The luminary is available in circular or square format; in black or white finishes; and it can be surface-mounted or recessed.
The Point is a family of high-precision accent lamps that can be oriented for directional light. Ideal for lighting artwork, retail spaces, restaurants, hotels, art galleries and other dynamic spaces, the Point features a laser that perfectly guides the direction of light, controlled by a fully integrated slider in the body of the luminaire. And like all Fluvia lighting, the design of the fixture is based on pure geometries and free from ornamentation to allow for the optimum spread of light.
These recent awards complement those Fluvia received for past collections including the Cool, Slim and Slim System. Indeed, the use of cutting-edge technology is distinct across all Fluvia luminaries and it is applied to lights to create exceptional environments, whether evoking a certain mood, highlighting architecture and interior features or enriching a space to complement its use.
Congratulations to Fluvia on these recent wins.
