Emmanuelle Moureaux may not be a household name in many parts of the world, though her projects are unmissable throughout Tokyo.  The Sugamo Shinkin Bank have developed a groundbreaking relationship with Moureaux who has completed a number of projects for the large Japanese Credit Union: the images above being from the recently unveiled Shimura Branch which has been rebuilt from scratch.  On this occasion Moureaux was invited to carry her vision throughout the interior finishes - characterised by light filled spaces bursting with colourful upholstery choices and dandelion motifs dotting the walls and ceiling. Contemporary by day and even more vivid by night thanks to clever illumination, this is one bank where you can see your fees being put to good use!
